Notre histoire du café haïtien
L'histoire du café en Haïti débute vers 1725, lorsque les colons français introduisent les premiers plants d'arabica dans la colonie de Saint-Domingue. Cultivé de force par des milliers d'esclaves, le café devient rapidement une immense richesse économique.
Au XVIIIe siècle, l'île produit une grande partie du café mondial. Le café haïtien a un goût doux qui rappelle le chocolat et la cerise, sans être trop amer. Il possède un corps lisse et un bon équilibre.
